Gjilan – Prosecutor’s Office has initiated investigations into investigative actions related to war crimes cases, respectively the Files of Zhegër, Llashticë, Llovca and Zhegoc. Finally we have good news for all the damaged families and the victims of the war. Gjilan Prosecution Office is almost the first in Kosovo and the only one which has officially started to deal with wartime files.
The Department of Serious Crimes has already started investigative actions for three war crimes files.
In the second half of July the Serious Crimes Department at the Basic Prosecution Office in Gjilan interviewed at least three very important witnesses for war crimes against the Anamorava civilian population‚ respectively for war crime files in Zhegovc‚ Llashticë and Zhegër.
Rajonipress has contacted the chief prosecutor Mr. Jetish Maloku. He is on vacation and he cannot be pronounced now. However according to reliable sources within the Basic Prosecution in Gjilan, under anonymity conditions, they showed that evidence collection for these files has begun and the central institutions in Prishtina are informed too.
For a long time now the Prosecutor Office has made all the preparations to accept any war files and to begin with handling of these files‚ especially the living witnesses and eyewitnesses of the macabre events and massacres of the civilian population of this area.
The reliable source stressed that they will intensify the interviews of many other witnesses and the collection of evidence will lead to the arrest of all perpetrators of these serious crimes against the civilian population of this area./rajonipress/
